In August 2025, Glide Japan Inc. welcomed a new team member based in Nagasaki City, officially opening our Nagasaki office. Now entering its third year, Glide Japan is taking on a new challenge by developing activities and tours in Nagasaki, as well as preparing to open tourism-related facilities in the future.

Nagasaki was once the only port in Japan open to the world, fostering unique cross-cultural exchanges that gave rise to its distinctive Wakaran culture - a quirky blend of Japanese, Chinese and Western influences. Beyond the well-known sightseeing spots and local specialities often associated with Nagasaki, there are still countless hidden charms waiting to be explored there.

Our mission is to create places and experiences that'll make visitors say, 'I didn’t know Nagasaki had this as well!', sharing the city’s diverse appeal with the world.

Introducing our newest team member: Ena Uchino

Born and raised in Nagasaki City, Ena rediscovered the charm of her hometown after years of living abroad. Each visit back home reminded her of the beauty and culture she had once taken for granted. Inspired by the desire to share the unique appeal of Nagasaki from a local perspective, she returned to Japan and joined Glide Japan.

With extensive experience in the travel industry, Ena now resides in Nagasaki and is actively engaged in developing community-based tourism projects, guiding, and creating unique local experiences.

Message from Our CEO

At Glide Japan, our vision is to become Japan’s leading engine for regional revitalisation, making the ability to realise one's dreams in less urban areas (without having to re-locate to Tokyo) the new career-norm in this country. With the opening of our Nagasaki office, we're proud to mark the beginning of our second chapter.

When looking at Kyushu’s potential in the context of inbound tourism, I've long felt a strong sense of possibility in Nagasaki. The city’s name is known worldwide - in fact, you'd be hard-pressed to find someone who was not taught about Nagasaki's history at school. Beyond its present-day role in peace education, Nagasaki’s history of cultural exchange, its unique hillside cityscape, its Meiji-era industrial heritage, and even its world-class night views, all speak to its tremendous tourism potential.

As we move forward with our business expansion, taking this important first step in Nagasaki, our mission is to create opportunities and work that allow young people to thrive and realise their dreams right where they are - in their beloved hometowns.

Masahiro Ide
